Wedding planning and
design in Houston

Our full planning service is for couples who want one person responsible for the whole wedding. Not a checklist, not a vendor list, not a folder of templates. One planner who takes the entire thing, holds it for as long as it takes, and hands it back to you as a day you get to be present at.From the moment you say yes to the moment you say I do, we take care of the details.Full wedding planning starts at $8,900.

What full planning actually covers

Wedding planning means different things at different price points, so here is the specific list.Full planning also includes the invisible part, which is the correspondence. Unlimited, from the day you book. Most couples send more messages in the final six weeks than in the whole year before it, and that is exactly what the fee is for.

Before the design begins

A discovery session about the wedding you are picturing, the guest list, the families involved and the budget you are working with. If the two ends of that do not meet, we say so in the first month rather than the ninth.

Venue

If you have not booked, we shortlist and tour with you. If you have, we take over the relationship and read the contract properly, including the parts about load-in windows, noise curfews, outside vendor rules and what happens if the weather moves you indoors.

The vendor team

We source, quote and contract the photographers, videographers, florists, caterers, bakers, stationers, entertainment, rentals, lighting and anyone else the wedding needs. We hold the payment schedule and tell you what is due when.

Design

The full visual direction: palette, florals, linens, tabletop, stationery, signage, lighting, dance floor and any built installations. You see it as one coherent thing before anything is ordered.

Logistics

Floor plans, guest flow, transport, room blocks, timelines. A production schedule that every vendor works from, updated as things change, so nobody arrives on the day working off a version from March.

The wedding day

Rehearsal direction the day before. On the day we arrive with the first vendor and leave after the last one. Vendors report to us, questions come to us, and payments and gratuities are handled by us.

Design that survives contact with a real room

The design work at Rasha Design House is not mood boarding. Rasha holds a design degree from Rutgers and the studio was built around that, which is why we start with a whole visual direction rather than approving twelve separate decisions across nine months.

Some of what that has produced:

At Sandlewood Manor in Tomball, a floral bridge in pastel colours running the length of the wooden farm tables, with gold rim chargers, watercolour napkins and wax seal place cards on chiffon runners. The couple poured a champagne tower in front of their guests on a custom dance floor built for the room.

At The Weinberg at Wixon Valley in Bryan, a country chic reception with farm tables, crystal candelabras, white floral centrepieces and a monogrammed dance floor, plus a ceremony in the chapel and a fireworks exit in a classic Cadillac.

At Sans Souci Ballroom in Tomball, a black and white reception with a geometric dance floor and crystal vases, and wedding party portraits shot on the floor itself.

At A Thousand Oaks Events and Retreats in Cypress, tall pastel centrepieces, purple accents against gold flatware, and an emerald green cake photographed outdoors against the trees.

At The Peach Orchard in Spring, white and blush roses carried through the reception with baby’s breath used generously, and a flat lay pairing the invitation suite with the florals.

Custom dance floors come up often in our work because they solve a real problem. A ballroom floor is the largest single surface a guest sees and it usually belongs to someone else’s design. Taking it over changes the whole room for less than most couples expect.

Multicultural and fusion weddings

Houston is one of the most internationally mixed cities in the country and our portfolio looks like it.

We have designed a Vietnamese couple’s first dance under sparklers at The Bougainvilleas Event Venue in Houston. A South Asian bride and a Korean groom marrying by the water in Corpus Christi, with fire red and magenta florals. A Chinese bride and a Spanish groom at The Bell Tower in Houston, with a seating chart built to look like a wall of books. Multicultural couples and wedding parties across venues in Tomball and Houston.

Fusion weddings are the hardest job in this industry. Two families, two sets of expectations about what a wedding is, and one day that has to honour both without feeling like two parties stapled together. The mistakes are usually made in the timeline rather than the design: a ceremony that runs ninety minutes longer than the planner allowed for, a meal that has to be served twice, a family entrance that nobody briefed the photographer about.

We do the research on your traditions before the design starts. You should not have to project manage your own culture on your wedding day, or spend the morning explaining to a vendor why something matters.

The planning timeline

Every wedding moves differently, but the shape is usually this.If your date is closer than this, say so. We have taken short timelines and made them work. It changes what is realistic, not whether it is possible.

Twelve months out and earlier

Budget, guest list, venue and date. Photographer and any vendor whose calendar fills first. Design direction agreed.

Nine to six months out

The rest of the vendor team contracted. Florals and rentals specified. Stationery designed and the save the dates gone out. Attire in progress.

Five to three months out

Menu tasting, floor plan drafted, transport and room blocks confirmed, invitations out, ceremony details settled with your officiant.

Two months to six weeks out

Guest count firming up, seating built, timeline drafted and circulated to vendors, final payments scheduled, any rentals adjusted to the real numbers.

The final month

Timeline locked and sent to everyone. Final walkthrough at the venue. Rehearsal. Then the day, which by that point should feel like something already decided rather than something being decided.

Where we work

Houston and the surrounding towns are home: Tomball, Spring, Cypress, Katy, Sugar Land and The Woodlands. We regularly work further out, including Bryan and College Station, and we have designed weddings on the water in Corpus Christi. Ask about travel. It is usually workable.

Common questions

How much does a wedding planner cost in Houston?

Full wedding planning at Rasha Design House starts at $8,900. Nationally, couples pay anywhere from a few thousand dollars for day-of coordination to well into five figures for full planning and design. The spread is that wide because the words mean different things at different studios. Before comparing two quotes, ask each planner how many hours of correspondence are included, whether design is part of the fee or extra, and who is physically present on the wedding day.

They do different jobs. A venue coordinator is employed by the venue and is responsible for the building: access times, table placement, what the venue’s own staff will do. They leave when the venue’s obligations end. A planner works for you from before the venue is chosen, manages every vendor who is not employed by the venue, owns the design and runs the day. Most venues that include a coordinator will still tell you to hire a planner.

Yes. Our portfolio includes South Asian, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese and Spanish celebrations, and fusion weddings that bring two of those together. We research the traditions specific to your families rather than working from a generic template, and we build the timeline around the events that actually matter to you.

Every outdoor wedding we plan has a written weather plan agreed with the venue and the vendors before the month of the wedding, including the time of day the call gets made and who makes it. In Houston this is not optional. Couples who have a plan lose an hour of stress. Couples who do not lose the afternoon.

No. We recommend vendors because they suit your event and because we have worked with them and know how they perform under pressure. Our fee comes from you and only from you.

Twelve to eighteen months is comfortable, mainly because the venues and photographers you want book that far out. We take a limited number of weddings each year and spring and autumn Saturdays in Houston go early. If your date is inside six months, call rather than email.
