Marketing and consulting for
venues and restaurants

This service is by referral only. We work with event venues and restaurants, not with private clients, and not with other planners. If you were sent here by someone we have worked with, get in touch and say who referred you.

What this is

Three areas of work: small business development, marketing strategy development, and organic social media growth and management. The reason this service exists is that Rasha sits on both sides of the table. She holds a design and marketing degree from Rutgers University, graduated with high honors, and has spent more than a decade inside the events and hospitality industry with several hundred events behind her. That is an unusual combination. Most hospitality marketing consultants have never had to load a room in on a Friday afternoon, and most people who have loaded a room in have never built a marketing strategy.Venues and restaurants get sold marketing by people who have never sold their product. We have been the buyer, hundreds of times, and we know exactly what makes a planner put your venue on a shortlist and what makes her quietly stop suggesting it.

Small business development

Most independent venues and restaurants in Houston are not short of effort. They are short of a clear answer to two questions: who exactly is this for, and why would they pick us over the place eleven minutes down the road.

This work covers positioning, the offer itself, pricing structure and the commercial mechanics underneath it. For a venue that often means looking hard at what is bundled into the room rate, how the all-inclusive package is built, what the minimum spend is doing to the enquiries you get, and whether the room is being sold for the events it is actually good at.

For a restaurant it usually means the private dining side of the business, which in Houston is frequently the most profitable part of the operation and the least deliberately run.

Marketing strategy development

A written strategy rather than a list of tactics. Where the enquiries come from now, where they should come from, what the site needs to say, what the photography needs to show, and which relationships are worth building.

For venues, the single biggest channel is usually not advertising. It is planners. A venue that is on the shortlist of fifteen active Houston planners has a different business from one that is not, and the work of getting there is specific and unglamorous: the site visit experience, the response time on an enquiry, the clarity of the pricing sheet, whether the floor plan is available as a file, whether the preferred vendor list makes life easier or harder.

We know this because we are on the other end of it. When a planner stops recommending a venue there is almost always a concrete reason, and it is almost never the room.

Organic social media growth and management

Organic, deliberately. Paid social has its place but it is not what this is.

The work covers content direction, what to shoot and when, how to use the photography you already have, the difference between a feed that looks nice and a feed that produces enquiries, and the ongoing management of it. For a venue, that includes the practical business of getting your space credited and tagged properly by the photographers and planners already working in it, which is free reach that most venues leave on the table.

Rasha Design House was built partly on this. The studio went from launch in 2021 to being listed among the best wedding planners in Houston by H-Town Best, without an advertising budget.

Who this is for

operated, generally somewhere between doing well by accident and wanting to do well on purpose.

Who it is not for: other wedding and event planners, national chains, and anyone looking for a single social media post plan rather than a working relationship. We also do not take a venue where we would be working against a venue we already advise.

What a first engagement usually looks like

There is no fixed package, because a venue with a booking problem and a venue with a pricing problem need different work. The shape is usually this.

A conversation first, an hour or so, going through what the business is, where the enquiries come from now, what converts and what does not. Most owners already know where the problem is and have not had anyone to say it to.

Then a written assessment. What we found, what we would change, and in what order. That document is useful on its own, and some businesses take it and run with it themselves. That is a fine outcome.

Then, if it makes sense for both sides, the work itself. Business development and strategy are scoped as projects with a defined output and an end date. Social media management runs monthly, because there is no other honest way to price it.

Why referral only

Two reasons, and they are both practical.

The first is capacity. Rasha Design House is a small studio and events come first. Consulting takes the time that is left, so there is not much of it.

The second is that this work depends on candour. A consultant who is going to tell you your pricing structure is the problem, or that your site visit process is costing you bookings, needs a relationship where that can be said directly on the first call. Referrals arrive with that already in place. Cold enquiries usually do not.

How to get in touch

Email Rasha@RashaDesignHouse.com or call 832-422-8273, and mention who referred you. Tell us what the business is, how long you have been running it and what specifically is not working. The first conversation is a conversation, not a pitch.

Common questions

Do I need a referral to work with you?

Yes. This service is offered by referral only, so we ask that you mention who sent you when you get in touch. If you are a venue or restaurant we have worked alongside on an event, that counts.

No. The value here comes from Rasha having spent more than a decade inside this specific industry, both designing events and buying from venues and restaurants. Outside that, a general marketing consultant would serve you better and we will say so.

Both exist depending on what the business needs. Strategy and business development work is usually scoped as a project with a defined output. Social media management is ongoing by nature. We will tell you which one your situation calls for after the first conversation, including if the honest answer is that you need neither yet.

No. We do not take a venue where the work would run against a venue we already advise. If that is the situation we will say so straight away rather than take the meeting.

Those are separate arrangements. Consulting does not come with an obligation in either direction, and a venue does not become our preferred venue because it is a client. Planners who quietly steer couples toward venues that pay them are the reason this industry has a trust problem.
